JOB SUMMARY

You'll work with modern cloud infrastructure in our state-of-the-art cloud data centre, advanced network technology, Microsoft M365, cutting-edge security, and an expansive SAP landscape. As an IT Cloud Infrastructure Architect, reporting to the Group Manager IT Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in the Global Infrastructure team, focusing on Wintel and Middleware cloud services. You will balance strategic vision—designing innovative infrastructure architectures—with hands-on leadership in daily system support.

Key responsibilities include driving platform strategy (e.g., directory services, software deployment), leading IT projects to evaluate and implement new technologies, and securing organizational buy-in for high-level infrastructure plans. You will oversee system performance, manage outsourced suppliers, and ensure incident resolution aligns with ITIL standards.

This role demands expertise in cloud-based Wintel environments, a proactive approach to platform improvement, and collaboration with IT Operations to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.

Essential functions at a glance:

  • Strategic Planning: Architect and consult on computing platform strategies, supporting Systems Engineers and IT leaders.
  • Project Leadership: Drive global IT projects across Microsoft Infrastructure, company-specific applications, and IT integration for new acquisitions.
  • Documentation & Enhancement: Maintain and improve knowledge of existing IT architecture and technology portfolios.
  • Capacity Management: Develop and manage infrastructure capacity plans while adhering to technology standards.
  • Cloud Expertise: Serve as the highest-level cloud specialist supporting business needs.
  • Innovation: Research and promote emerging technologies to enhance cost-effectiveness and flexibility.
  • Performance Optimization: Design and execute test plans, continuously improving technical performance.
  • Service Resolution: Own the resolution process for service calls related to globally managed systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with teams to refine support and operational practices based on ITIL standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in team meetings and advocate for better ITIL-aligned methods to enhance system support and delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED SKILLS

We are seeking a professional with:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (required).
  • Microsoft certifications (required).
  • 5+ years of IT Project Management experience within a global organization and 3+ years designing IT architectures in a Microsoft environment.
  • Proven ability to lead global IT projects and manage IT architecture lifecycles.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security) and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Expertise in translating business requirements into scalable cloud solutions, Azure Cost Management, and Microsoft license management.
  • Familiarity with Entra, Identity and Access Management, Azure Arc, and SAP on Azure (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of ITIL standards and a commitment to staying updated on Azure advancements.
  • Experience in capacity planning, performance testing, and continuous system improvement.
  • Proficiency in English (Dutch is a bonus).
  • Candidate must already reside in the Netherlands.
