A reflection from a Legal Intern

''When I started my graduation internship at Nyrstar, I was honestly looking forward to it. During the job interview, I actually had a good feeling right away. The conversations were pleasant, the atmosphere felt relaxed and professional at the same time and the work that was described fitted in well with what I was looking for in a graduation internship. In retrospect, I can say that my first impression was completely correct, something you normally don't often encounter in practice. What I also really appreciated during my internship was the guidance. Although I was allowed to work independently a lot, I never felt like I was on my own. There was always someone available when I had questions. In my opinion, that's exactly how an internship should be. You get the space to learn independently, but at the same time there is always someone available when needed. I am especially proud of how much I have learned. When I started my internship, I obviously had knowledge from my education, but I notice that I now understand much better how the law works in practice. It's not only about the law, not only about the law, but also about working together, communicating, managing expectations, setting priorities and functioning within a professional organization. I can honestly say that I had a great time at Nyrstar. From the job interview to my last day of internship, I felt welcome. I have been given a lot of responsibility, gained a lot of confidence and, above all, learned a lot. I am very grateful to my supervisors and colleagues for that. Looking back, I couldn't have wished for a better graduation internship".
